A semester long self-directed exploration.
Artist Statement
I sought to reintroduce trash from our trash cans, town dumps, or sidewalks. The objects once had a pragmatic value and intrinsic locale; the plastic fork on the lunch break, the hamburger wrapper on the table, or the gum wrapper in a pocket. Once used, they arrive as trash, removing their value. By arranging the collected objects in a systematic order, value is restored through their aesthetic and formal quality.
